FRACTIONAL CTO & PLATFORM MODERNIZATION - 130-YEAR INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION

A 130-year-old international membership organization with 500+ member clubs and 5,500+ affiliates across the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan engaged FBC Alliance as fractional CTO to modernize a technology ecosystem that had grown around decades of legacy custom-built applications no longer able to support the organization's mission, member experience, or operational scale.
FBC Alliance worked across the C-Suite, functional departments, and IT to document and validate existing processes including surfacing the barnacles that had accumulated around aging systems over time. AGENTICAI KNOWLEDGE PLATFORM DESIGN - MAJOR PUBLIC RESEARCH UNIVERSITY
A major public research university engaged FBC Alliance to design a Generative AI knowledge platform that would activate more than 100 years of institutional research, scholarship, and organizational knowledge making it accessible, searchable, and conversational for students, faculty, researchers, and administrators.
The platform design is built on two complementary AI architectural approaches. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) allows the AI to retrieve and reference specific documents, research, and institutional records before generating a response, grounding answers in the university's actual knowledge base rather than relying solely on the large language model's general training data. Enterprise Context layers extend this further, enabling the AI to understand and apply the university's own terminology, organizational structure, human signals, research domains, and institutional priorities when formulating responses. Together these approaches ensure the platform delivers answers that are accurate, relevant, and specifically grounded in the university's own intellectual assets - not generic AI outputs.
FBC Alliance designed the governance framework, data classification standards, access controls, and responsible AI policies in parallel with the platform architecture building compliance and ethical safeguards from inception rather than retrofitting them after deployment.
The platform concept design is complete and positions the university to activate a century of institutional knowledge through a governed, responsible AI capability that serves its academic mission. Implementation planning is underway.
